“Every generation likes to think they’re improving upon the last, that progress is inevitable, that the future holds less misery and suffering than the past. But the truth is, some things never change. History has a way of repeating itself. It’s just most people don’t live long enough to see it happen.”
They say one small act can change everything. You can be the change for all generations to come. If perhaps we each showed ourselves more self-love, and self-responsibility, we would truly see what a powerful tool we can obtain. Loving yourself is a powerful force to enact change. Unexpected and painful things happen, and often we just become frustrated by them. Our life takes an unexpected turn, something we didn’t hope for initially, and we lose all self-love. We tell ourselves that we didn’t want this, it’s not fair, and we convince ourselves that this isn’t leading us anywhere. Because our lives turn upside, we turn on ourselves. We ignore all guidance at this time, and most of the time, it is that guidance that we need to get us through this experience. But if we love ourselves through this storm, block, turn, twist, we can hear our heart, and it will surely lead us. We have to keep loving ourselves until we can act on what our heart tells us. We must find the courage to use this powerful force for change. You must love yourself, so that you can stay on the trustworthy path, no matter what life brings. One small step, can change not only your world, but those around you.
“Miracles come in moments. Be ready and willing.” – Wayne Dye
How often do we find ourselves, and other saying they want something so bad, yet they are not completely open to accepting it. We let our fears get the best of us and we find ourselves resisting immediately. We need to first help ourselves decide what we want. We need to be completely clear, saying it over and over, writing on places to look at throughout the day, or even telling friends so you can be comfortable with the idea. Once you have established the idea, ask yourself if you are really ready and willing to do whatever it takes? Keep asking yourself that question, watch all the feelings that arise, especially the negative ones. Once you feel them all, just let them go. Just like that imaging yourself sky dive for the first time. You are standing at the door of the plane, talking yourself out of it, but once you let go, you fly. You remove all the obstacles you built up once you just go! Tell yourself that you have what it takes, you have what you need, you are READY AND you are WILLING!!Take a journey inside of your soul and find out what obstacles are holding you back from your visions, and then just like the sky diver, FLY!
“The only person you are destined to become is the person you decide to be.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson
Starting new is an idea a few friends have asked me for advice about. They had this idea of picking up and moving away to start new. I tried to wrap my head around it, but I just don’t see it as starting new. They were trying to escape, bad jobs, daily routines, etc. Moving away to them felt like an easier way to recreate themselves. For me, if they just escaped that bad job, or tried a different routine, they would be creating new moments, which would make a new identity for themselves. Moving away, doesn’t create change within yourself, but you can alter the way new people see you. I meet someone new in a new place, I can literally be whoever I want to be. They don’t know me, and I can establish myself in a different way. But is that really who you are, is it who you are pretending to be, or is it how you would like to see yourself? Everyday that you wake up, you have moments throughout the day to recreate yourself, if you choose to make the effort. Change doesn’t happen overnight, and certainly moving somewhere new doesn’t solve it. How often do we let a routine get the best of us? How often do we say, “oh tomorrow i’ll do that differently?” Tomorrow rolls around, and we have another excuse lined up. People love comfort, and to move outside the comfort zone takes extreme commitment. Starting anything new always is scary, and people tend to run back for the fear they won’t adjust. But if you really think back in your life you will see, you always adjusted, it just takes some time.
“The moment of impact. The moment of impact proves potential for change. Has ripples effects far beyond what we can predict. Sending some particles crashing together. Making them closer than before. While sending others spinning off into great ventures. Landing them where you’ve never thought you’ve found them. That’s the thing about moments like these. You can’t, no matter how hard you try, controlling how it’s gonna affect you. You just gotta let the colliding part goes where they may. And wait. For the next collision
In exactly a week from now, it will mark my 27th birthday. As I think about time, and the things that have stayed the same, and the things that are completely and utterly different, I think of the process that goes along with it. Change is inevitable, and although we think somethings will last forever, they won’t. That is the story of life. Struggles are temporary, and we must see that our future is clear of what we are dealing with at this moment. Maybe we have an illness, or a disease, or a loved one whom is sick, time does not stand still, and the future may hold greatness. I think about the things I would have liked to accomplish, but then I find myself focusing on my personal growth. It may not always be visible to the eyes around, but personal growth is one of the greatest accomplishments there is. Birthdays for me always mark a time to be grateful for those around me. I am grateful for the struggles I have been through, because without them, I wouldn’t learn what strength is. I am grateful for time, and that each day I get to awake and discover something new about myself. We must not take time for granted. So go out and enjoy today, find something new to discover about yourself! You are on the path to finding and perfecting a better you!
Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes. Don’t resist them – that only creates sorrow. Let reality be reality. Let things flow naturally forward in whatever way they like. -Lao Tzu
