I awoke to the birds singing this morning, and the sun shining through my shades. I was eager to start my day, and accomplish a list full of errands that have been piling up. Somehow, I got so lost in my list, I forgot to enjoy the first 65 degree day! On my drive home tonight, I plan to turn up my music, roll down my windows, and just inhale then exhale and just unwind. Sometimes we give up so many great moments because we are so involved, when really all we need is a 5 minute break just to enjoy! I have my playlist set, and I am preparing to enjoy, take a walk outside tonight and get a glimpse of the moon! I hope this weather is here to stay and hope you were able to take a moment to enjoy! Any playlist suggestions for my ride home?!  There’s still time left, go out and find something to help you unwind! Happy Tuesday!

Good things..

With my 27th birthday approaching tomorrow, I thought about this idea of good things in life. How sometimes we get distracted by other peoples accomplishments, and then melt away in our struggle to accomplish things. But really, good things take time. Amazing people don’t just happen, it takes hard work, and devotion. You don’t just become fabulously fit, and in love with yourself over night. You need to apply the right mind set to it, and work, work, work! If you don’t invest all your time and energy in the positives, how do you expect good things to come to you? Everyone wants to better themselves, not just physically, but emotionally, financially, spirituality too. Life is not about what you are given, it’s really about what you decide to create. Sometimes things don’t end up how we imagined, and that’s okay, because that only means that something better is on it’s way! Good things take time, so be patient and enjoy the little things in between! The sun is shining, and it’s 58 degrees in New York today! I can’t help but find myself beaming in anticipation of summer!

Spring Cleaning

Although it doesn’t feel like spring outside, I gave thought to the idea of spring cleaning. Not only the physicality of spring cleaning, but of mental cleaning too! So often we hold so much inside of us, that with time it just overflows. We need to clear not only our closets, but our lives of clutter too. Friendships that are lagging, jobs that are dragging us down, negativity that we allow to continually flow in our lives, so much that built up in the darkness of winter. We need to spring ahead into the light and enjoy the warmth that’s to come. For me, this first step is answering this question, “What could you be happy about if you chose to be?” This question, makes me see that I have the power of choice, to chose my happiness. I begin to think of things that are weighing me down, and things that I feel tied to, and if I chose to be happy, would I just let these things go? Are there things that are holding you back from choosing to be happy? I find that the key to finding a better you, is to examine and “spring clean” this negativity, and make the choice to be happy. It not only makes a better you, but you’ll find that you’ll be living a happier life.Image
