Beauty of The Present Moment

“The only true thing is what’s in front of you right now.”- Ramona Ausubel

People make decisions daily, and then all of a sudden fear rushes into their veins. They begin questioning what they did, and if what they did was the right move. They begin creating scenarios of what could go wrong. The fear becomes so intensely harbored within that it has manifested itself. The fear we created is beginning to happen, because we are so vividly imagining it in our minds. We are forcing ourselves to live in that moment of fear, to experience its every stroke. We are crouched in this moment, stuck in both the past and future, but in reality it’s not even occurring. It is already stealing our joy, and peace. Many awful things can come at any moment in life, but that doesn’t mean we have to give into the fear now, and live through it multiple times. WE need to recognize our fears, release them, and enjoy the beauty of the present moment. Within each day, we will find more happiness and our minds will be less crowded, and free.  So do not accept fear to ruin your joy of today. Breathe deeply with each decision, and move confidently

Traveling Through Time…

”We’re all traveling through time together, every day of our lives. All we can do is do our best to relish this remarkable ride.  And in the end I think I’ve learned the final lesson from my travels in time; and I’ve even gone one step further than my father did: The truth is I now don’t travel back at all, not even for the day, I just try to live every day as if I’ve deliberately come back to this one day, to enjoy it, as if it was the full final day of my extraordinary, ordinary life.” – About Time

Time is a funny thing, and it’s something we tend to waste so carelessly. We don’t grasp every moments breath, we don’t admire things that our before our eyes, but instead we dwell in the mind, and get lost in the thoughts. We cling to our past moments, our wrong choices, and our “would have, could have, should have” moments. We are so overwhelmed with what lies behind us, instead of what is held right in front of us. We could be staring at the most beautiful piece of nature, a sunset, a full moon, a blooming flower, yet all we can think about is our daily plan, and how it’s going to completely consume us. I have tried to be more present, in the moment, practicing clearing my mind, and thinking of this idea of time. If I look behind, I only see how far I’ve come, and when I look ahead, I see the many opportunities that can be grasped. And even if I can’t seem to find my place, and two doors are slamming in my face, I know that somewhere, new doors will follow. So for now, I will free myself, and love every moment I am given to try again. I hope that tomorrow, you will wake up with me, and really engulf yourself in the present moments, ignoring just for a moment, all that the past holds, and even all that the future will hold, and just be present.

Because I’m HAPPY!!!

Happy Rainy Wednesday everyone!!!! There is something about the rain that always finds a way to improve my mood. Something so magical about it, that I just can’t explain!! Insert Melissa singing and dancing because I’m HAPPY!!! Okay, onward . I started reading Eat, Pray, Love again, and came across this quote.

Happiness is the consequence of personal effort. You fight for it, strive for it, insist upon it, and sometimes even travel around the world looking for it. You have to participate relentlessly in the manifestations of your own blessings. And once you have achieved a state of happiness, you must never become lax about maintaining it. You must make a mighty effort to keep swimming upward into that happiness forever, to stay afloat on top of it.

Elizabeth Gilbert

Everything in life takes effort, and I find that people are so quick to give up, (myself included), because we don’t see immediate progress. But we need to observe and be content with the quarter mile we’ve come. Yeah it may not be that big mile leap you have hoped for, but in the end the total distance adds up. Every step, even the smallest one gets you that much closer to whatever it is you are striving for. People always look at the negative and see that its taking too much time, but its times like that you need to embrace that thing called patience! Keep believing in yourself, keep pushing yourself, and you will find with a little more patience, you will reach your finish line!

Superwoman!

Image

Happy Wednesday All!! As I stare at the trees outside my window, I notice the miniature buds starting to make their way out. I am reminded about new beginnings, and new opportunities. Lately, I have been trying to be superwoman, partly because of self pressure, and partly because I am looking for change. With the new weather patterns, and the evolving season, I am reminded of leaving the darkness behind me, and looking forward to the light, and brightness ahead. I am finding myself disconnecting some parts of my life, and reconnecting others. I find that in these changing times, we put so much weight on our shoulders, like almost being on a stopwatch! But it’s these time we should pause and embrace the change. We will get to the same place, just either extremely tired and stressed, or relaxed and happy! I choose happiness!!! I embrace my inner superwoman, but I think it’s time to hang up the cape, and put some of my weights down! Taking myself to the gym tonight for some nice serene ME time! Hope you are finding yourself doing something today to better yourself, and you are making every effort to enjoy the change of season!

Time…

In exactly a week from now, it will mark my 27th birthday. As I think about time, and the things that have stayed the same, and the things that are completely and utterly different, I think of the process that goes along with it. Change is inevitable, and although we think somethings will last forever, they won’t. That is the story of life. Struggles are temporary, and we must see that our future is clear of what we are dealing with at this moment. Maybe we have an illness, or a disease, or a loved one whom is sick, time does not stand still, and the future may hold greatness. I think about the things I would have liked to accomplish, but then I find myself focusing on my personal growth. It may not always be visible to the eyes around, but personal growth is one of the greatest accomplishments there is. Birthdays for me always mark a time to be grateful for those around me. I am grateful for the struggles I have been through, because without them, I wouldn’t learn what strength is. I am grateful for time, and that each day I get to awake and discover something new about myself. We must not take time for granted. So go out and enjoy today, find something new to discover about yourself! You are on the path to finding and perfecting a better you!

Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes. Don’t resist them – that only creates sorrow. Let reality be reality. Let things flow naturally forward in whatever way they like.
-Lao Tzu

Knock Out.

Ever feel like you’ve beaten up so badly, and you are knocked out emotionally? Ever feel like everything is unraveling right before your eyes and there is nothing you can do to stop it? So what do you do? Crying is natural, sadness is expected, and pain is inevitable. But our responsibilities still exist, and there is no way to just hit pause on this remote of life. As much as we just want to throw in the towel, and give up, something ignites inside of us, like a can of Redbull. We spark, we ignite, and we push on. No one asks for these days, weeks or months, they are just apart of this life of uncertainty. Alice, from Alice in Wonderland asked the White Rabbit, “How long is forever?” and the White Rabbit responded, “Sometimes, just one second.” So my question to you is what are you going to do with your forever? According to the White Rabbit, it may only be this second you have. Image

Balance…

4282bd2fe8adf4cbbee26cf15ff9b637We all search for balance in our lives. Balance in relationships, in friendships, in work, and in family. This idea has always been curious to me, because I feel no matter how hard we strive, balance is an impossibility to accomplish. It is a nice idea, but it’s not reality. Some weeks our personal lives consume every bit of our energy that we forget to balance our social lives, or the piles of work we have. Other weeks, our relationships, or work life require more of our time, and often people think it can be put on the back burner. So how do we balance a plate full? Do we divide our time up, or is it impossible to have it all? For me, it’s all about what is your top priority. First and for most that should be YOU! You cannot entertain or help anyone if you don’t care for you. All the other priorities are individualized. Work, of course is a necessity, but some of my other priorities would out weigh it. Can a balance be achieved? Once you dig deep down, and see what truly is important to you, I think its possible to have some sort of balance. Of course the scale is going to be outweighed from time to time, but if you make it your priority, nothing will get in your way, no excuses necessary. Just make sure you look at for you first. It is your number duty and priority. Wake up and push yourself to your limit!

Time…

Time is a funny thing.. Everyone says they are never going to get this or that done in time, or they want to be 30 and be in a certain place. But with changes and curve balls thrown at us everyday, how do we stay on track? And what if you are not guaranteed tomorrow? What would you do differently? I have suffered with up and down health conditions for over ten years, and was finally diagnosed with Lyme Disease, a year and half ago. I never thought I would have an answer, and I don’t feel I spent ten years wasting away time, but instead every day I woke up with determination to be “normal.” Time for me now, has a different meaning. I not only have learned to appreciate every single moment I am given, but I appreciate more simplistic things, like being able to get out of bed in morning, and having a great workout. More importantly, time has given me the opportunity to really appreciate and show the ones I hold near and dear to me, how much they mean to me. I find simple ways, to show them now, not tomorrow, next week, or in the future. You can sit here and plan and plan your life away, but if you don’t turn your head and look around, it will all disappear. Look down at your watch, and watch the minutes tick away, or get up and go spread your light! I am sure someone out there could use it! Happy Wednesday, workout hard, smile, laugh, and look up! Something better is on it’s way!!!! Be You Always!! Image
